How to use BondFX...
ALWAYS MAKE A TEST FIRST…!!!
BondFX is a
simple 50–50 mix (1 part A to 1 part B) and has a working time of 2 to
3 minutes and a cure time of 8 minutes.
The bond gets stronger after several
hours.
Surface coating
by brush:
Brush or stipple 1 to 2 coats of BondFX over the
entire surface to be painted. For best results, painting should be done
on a fresh silicone piece and should be painted as soon as possible
after removing from mold.
We strongly recommend that the cured piece to be painted be no more
than 2 days old.
Tin Based
silicones should be painted as soon as possible.
BondFX applied by spray or
airbrushing:
Spray a minimum 4 coat of BondFX over
the entire surface to be painted. Painting can be done immediately with FuseFX Platinum silicone paints.
A working time of 25 minutes can be achieved by diluting with a high
grade solvent (Toluene, Naphtha...) by adding 1 part of mixed BondFX to
1.5 to 2 parts solvent.
For best results, painting should be done on a fresh silicone piece
Tin Based
silicones should be painted as soon as possible.
BondFX as a surface coat –
You can now pour Platinum Based
silicone in a Tin Based silicone mold.
For best results,
FuseFX Royal JeL-E mold release should be used prior to the BondFX
application.
Apply BondFX by brush
(2 to 3 coats) or sprayed several coats (minimum 6 coats) into a Tin
Based Silicone mold rendering the surface ready to pour Platinum Based
Silicone.
BondFX silicone encapsulator
–
Apply 2 to 3 coat or airbrush several coats of BondFX on the
inside surface of the molds to create a soft strong skin.
The surface is now ready for the gelled silicone.
BondFX for repairing
seams in silicone
– (you will need FuseFX Smoothie for
this project)
Thicken a small batch of BondFX. Work quickly, BondFX cures
quickly.
Apply to area to be seamed.
Next spray a coat of FuseFX Smoothie over
the wet BondFX. Smoothie will allow you to move and sculpt
the BondFX without
diluting it, shaping it to the desired texture. Add more Smoothie if
needed.
Once the BondFX has
cured, you must wash off the Smoothie with
warm water. The surface is now clean and ready for additional coats of BondFX if
needed.
